Dr. George looks forward to taking the time to fully understand and treat your individual spine care needs.
Dr. George is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with more than 33 years of experience in Connecticut. He has extensive experience in complex spinal conditions, treating them both surgically and non-surgically. His preferred approach for almost all spine patients is non-surgical. He recommends a combination of treatments including physical therapy, chiropractic care, acupuncture, medications, pain management and injections, as well as other modalities.
Prior to joining SEP Orthopedics, Dr. George practiced in Western Connecticut between 1992 and 2015, including in Sharon, New Milford and Danbury. Between 2015 and 2025, Dr. George practiced in Eastern Connecticut, including as the Director of Spinal Surgery at Windham Hospital, a Hartford Healthcare Hospital. Between 2017 and 2024 Dr. George initiated and directed a highly successful robotic spine surgery program for Windham Hospital. This became one of the first programs in Connecticut to successfully complete 300 robotic spine surgeries. Dr. George has been named a “CT Top Doc” for multiple years during his career.
Dr. George received his B.S. Degree from Cornell University College of Engineering and his M.D. Degree from Weill Cornell Medical College. His post-graduate training included one year of general surgery at Brown University and a four-year residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Vermont. He then completed a spine surgery fellowship at Penn State University and Hershey Medical Center.
During his career, Dr. George has published original articles in The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, Journal of Spine and The New England Journal of Medicine.

Dr. Michael Kane earned his Doctor of Chiropractic from Northwestern College of Chiropractic in 1994, and his undergraduate B.A. in Biology from Western Connecticut State University in 1990. He has many additional years of continuing education in the evaluation and management of sports related injuries and musculoskeletal conditions associated with repetitive stress and normal daily living. His practice is focused on the restoration of comfort and function, and the search for the underlying causes of the musculoskeletal conditions he treats.
Dr. Kane has been an active member of his professional trade associations and has served in leadership capacities continuously since he was a student. He served on the Connecticut Chiropractic association Board of Directors for more than 18 years, including as President from 2007-2009, and currently sits in the House of Delegates of the American Chiropractic Association. He has won numerous awards for professional leadership, including but not limited to the Connecticut Chiropractic Association’s “Chiropractor of the Year” in 2009 and “Backbone Award” in 2010, and the American Chiropractic Association’s “Alternate Delegate of the Year” in 2012.
